After weeks of hard work by a cast of thousands the gallery has finally opened.

A gallery for photographers in Newcastle

This is the official blog for Gallery RAW, Newcastle House of Photography.

What you see here is an image of where the Gallery and studio are located in the Hunter Street Mall, Newcastle, New South Wales Australia.

The gallery is a part of the Renew Newcastle Project

Take no notice of the sign writing, that is a crude photoshop concept shot. Official logo and signage will soon follow.


The aim of Gallery RAW is to provide a gallery catering to photographic art only. No other mediums are planned for exhibition on this site.

Photography only will be exhibited here.

Not wedding photos, family portraits or panographs of Nobbys Beach. Local professionals and gifted amateurs are invited to exhibit but the focus will be on art photography not commercial work.

A large studio is also available for hire and we will encourage that this space be a meeting place for local photographers, groups and individuals.
